Course Description

Pathways to Indigenous Market Readiness provides tools and resources for Indigenous entrepreneurs looking to become Business Ready and start and operate an Indigenous tourism business for their local market, and for those looking to become Visitor Ready and grow their Indigenous tourism business by attracting visitors from outside their local market.

What you will learn

This online course consists of four major units of study, called Pathways. These Pathways contain a total of twenty-four modules called Stepping Stones, made up of interactive learning content, tools and templates, and guidance from Indigenous tourism operators and experts, including the knowledge and experience required to successfully create and operate an Indigenous tourism business. The course takes approximately 17.5 hours to complete.

Important Information

Developed in partnership with the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC), the program covers many of the criteria for ITAC’s Original Original accreditation for Indigenous tourism businesses. Each Pathway is aligned with the Original Original standards framework and contains specific information and methods for operators looking to achieve the Accreditation requirements.

Upon completion of all modules, learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement.
