Pamela Swampy, 2022 Outstanding Journeyperson Award Winner

Tourism Saskatchewan congratulates Pamela Swampy for achieving Outstanding Journeyperson in the Guest Services Representative trade. Pamela also received the Hospitality Trades Award, sponsored by Tourism Saskatchewan. The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC) announced outstanding journeypersons at the 22nd Annual Apprenticeship Awards Banquet in Regina on November 4, 2022.

Pamela Swampy, Guest Services Representative 2002 Outstanding New Journeyperson Award recipient, at Saskatchewan Apprenticeship Awards, Conexus Arts Centre, Regina, November 4, 2022Tourism Saskatchewan congratulates Pamela Swampy, Guest Services Representative, awarded Outstanding New Journeyperson at the 22nd Annual Apprenticeship Awards at Conexus Arts Centre in Regina on Friday, November 4.

The award is presented to new journeypersons — certified between July 1, 2021, and June 30, 2022 — who achieved the highest mark on their journeyperson certification exam.

The Apprenticeship Awards honour the contributions of apprenticeship and trade stakeholders, including apprentices, journeypersons, employers, instructors and training providers

Pamela earned her Guest Services Representative trade certification while working at Home Inn & Suites Yorkton by d3h Hotels. Among other requirements, Guest Services Representatives earn their Front Desk Agent and Reservation Sales Agent emerit Professional Certifications during their apprenticeship training.

Pamela currently can be found at Foxvalley Counseling Services Inc., which provides a family-centered approach to offer residential and community supports to families in crisis.

Tourism Saskatchewan Vice-President of Destination and Workforce Development Tracy Breher, Director of Workforce Development Denise Hauta and Resource and Exam Centre Coordinator Lendee Wiebe attended the awards banquet to join Pamela in celebration of her achievement and this important career milestone.
